20 Weeks Pregnant Symptoms – Pregnancy Week by Week
You’ve made it to half way through your pregnancy. This month you’ll really start to feel your little one’s presence in your uterus.
By 20 weeks pregnancy the tiny human being leads a rather curious pre-natal existence: opens its eyes a little, blinks, and sucks the own thumb, moves and kicks its legs when it doesn’t like something.
Since the 19th to 20th week or 5 month pregnancy, all the endocrine glands engage in the work. The spleen begins to function.
The weight of the fetus in the fifth month is about 0.8 pounds; the size is about 6.4 to 6.8 inches.
On an exciting note, your baby's reproductive organs and genitals are now fully developed. Your healthcare provider will be able to reveal whether you are having a little boy or girl. Don’t feel pressured to find out just yet. It’s a very personal decision and completely your own.
One of the most exciting symptoms of pregnancy occurs between week 16 and 20 — you begin to feel your baby move. Stretch marks usually occur during the fifth month, as the skin stretches. The fast growth of the baby will lead to the secretion of hormones which facilitate this process by increasing your appetite. It is common to experience varicose veins during pregnancy.
