First, I want to start off by saying that there are no set styles or ways of doing your hair to be scene, all you have to do is be yourself and have fun with it. However there are certain guidelines that can be followed.

Scene hair usually has a lot of layers, and is long in the back and short at the front.A good idea is to ask your hairstylist to cut very chunky layers that are shorter on top and longer on the bottom. Layers will allow you to get that poofy look, that is so popular with the scene hairstyle.Another important part of scene hair is the bangs. A lot of scene haircuts feature a bold, straight fringe or heavy bang that goes to the side or even in front of your eye just a bit. If you want a more specific hair style then I suggest that you take in some pictures to show your hairstylist when you go for your visit.

Another part of having scene hair is the bold colors and highlights that are added into the mix.You should choose a hair color that is bold and different from your natural color. Black or blond are always the most popular scene hair colors, but don’t be afraid to experiment and be unique. If your hair is a brown color then think about dyeing it a jet black or even a black blue color. These colors will stand out and look really great and stand out more than a dull normal brown hair color. Neon colors, such as bright pink, green, yellow can add strong contrast to your scene hair and make other tones stand out.

You will need to backcomb and tease your hair a lot to get that poofy look. You are going to need a teasing comb and a lot of hairspray. Rave hairspray is highly recommended (get the aerosol can NOT the spray kind). Start by dividing your hair in to sections, lift a layer and spray the roots with hairspray. Hold the hair up allowing a few seconds for the spray to dry.

Working from the middle of the hair down to the root, use the comb and start to tease your hair. Hairspray the hair you just teased and then repeat these steps until your entire head is done. Spray down all the stray hairs and make sure it all looks even. Scene girls love to use accessories in their hair such as hair bows, hair clips, hair barrettes, flowers and wide headbands.
